    Yeah, I’m seeing a common theme of disjunction in here.

    jcyrai, but there are moments that save, that redeem, hence the last picture: no, not a good photo by any stretch, but the guy was a bit of hope in an unbelievably desolate stretch.

    He’s also 81 years old (and I did in fact look at his ID), which I still find amazing, but which you would believe if you could see his eyes that were yellowed and aged like the tobacco stained finger tips of an old laborer.

    Of course at one point in the conversation still thinking of his age, I asked him, “how the…” And he responded with that big grin, “yes, everyone wants to know that, the secret, what I do, what I eat. But everyone is blessed with some thing, with one thing, and my blessing is this thing.

    There. The good can survive.
